Anterior SCS

The Anterior SCS instrumentation is in line with the evolution
of the SCS instrumentation used for the posterior approach.

Our purpose has been to elaborate a simple surgical technique to achieve
the 3D correction of the lumbar and thoraco-lumbar deformities.
By resecting the discs, the correction of severe deformities located
within few spinal segments is made easier.

The good restoration of the frontal and sagittal physiological curves is achieved
thanks to the correction of the deformity using the in-situ contouring technique.
The multiple segment fixation with 2 screws per vertebra, combined with the
interbody fusion, provides an optimal stabilization of the corrected segments.

Moreover thanks to this technique, the extension of the fusion is limited, allowing
to keep as many mobile segments as possible. The original SCS range
has been completed with specific implants so that we could fully achieve
this technique and avoid the multiplicity of the systems.

Our present clinical results are quite satisfactory, and prove that
the anterior SCS instrumentation is really efficient and reliable for the
management of spine diseases requiring an anterior fixation.
